The Restaurant...

With Two Red Rossettes to our name and a recent entry in the Good Food Guide, demonstrates just how passionate and committed our brigade are to the use of locally sourced and seasonally selected produce.

Our beef and lamb are supplied by renowned butcher, Vivian Olds of St Just.  This long established local company work with a soil association certficate, supplying meat from animals reared on Cornish farms. Welfare is enhanced by the short journeys that these animals make to the family owned abbatoir in St Just. Meat is hung for two weeks to mature, ensuring one of the finest products in the area. 

Fish comes direct from Newlyn fishmarket. The catch is delivered daily by W. Stevenson and Sons, who buy direct from the boats. Newlyn fishmarket is renowned for landing the finest fish from some of the best fishing waters in the UK. From this daily abundance, prime fish are selected and delivered straight to our doorstep, from only a mile away... Lobsters are bought directly from the small boats in Mousehole harbour.

All desserts, including ice creams and sorbets, are prepared on the premises under the direction of our Head Pastry Chef. As to are our range of breads and petit fours.

There are now many fine examples of Cornish cheeses available, of which many are finding their way on to our cheeseboard; Tesyn, St. Keverne, and Trelawney to name just a few.

Cornish organic free range eggs are supplied by Higher Bologgas Farm. Vegetables are purchased locally whenever possible, and our new potatoes come straight from a local farm during the wonderful early new potato season of West Cornwall.

Finally, a good selection of local bottled ales are available to buy... to enjoy here or take home!

We are very excited to be able to announce that Michael Riemenschneider and Bill Treloar have just acquired a prestigious Penzance site, the Michelin starred Abbey Restaurant in Abbey Street, adjacent to the famous Abbey Hotel.

Michael has now taken over as Chef Patron, with Bills support. He is already garnering a host of accolades, and there is no doubt that he will very rapidly turn the Abbey into a destination restaurant of the highest order.
