Old Coastguard wins Gold Award in annual Taste of the West awards for eating out in the South West.

It may not sound thrilling but our order of new knives and forks for the dining room sends a shiver of excitement down our team's backs.  The little things in life.

We can feed you all day now in Mousehole with our afternoon bar menu in full swing from 3pm.

Plans confirmed for Autumn Wine Supper on 18th November.  Pinot Noir with the brilliant Wine Barn. Maybe our most exciting dinner yet.  Tickets here.

Ale & Anchor music and beer weekend confirmed for weekend of 9 - 11 September at The Old Coastguard.

Gift Vouchers

Ever popular resolutions to difficult present problems, our vouchers can be with you within a couple of days.

For any amount, or for a particular offer, they last at least 12 months and we’re happy to extend them if needed. They are usable at any of our three little Inns.

Do email us here if you think we can help. Sad as it was to leave our previous Blue Peter efforts, we now have proper voucher holders to make for a better present all round.

We donate 5% of voucher sales in each December to our chosen charities. Last year, we raised over £1,000 for Brecon Mountain Rescue and Pentreath, a charity working towards better mental health in Cornwall.

A magnificent Winter Offer

£150 for a night's stay with dinner

We've always said that Cornwall can we at its very best outside of the busiest times.  Underpopulated beaches, roads and galleries and a climate that can often surprise on the upside.

The Winter Escape was designed to encourage our guests to visit from late Autumn to early Spring.  Still from £150 a night including dinner, Sunday - Thursday, outside of school holidays

And, what's more, you can stay as many nights as you like and can choose whether to eat here with us or make your way over to our sister inn, The Gurnard's Head.

From Sunday 30th October.  For availability and prices, please do drop an email to our Roundhouse team.

Many of you come for a bit of eat, plenty of sleep and perhaps a little drink. And you love to have the freedom to do what you want during the day. But some may wish for a little more structure.

So we've introduced some new sleepover packages which bring you together with some of the very talented people who live here in Cornwall.

We have a programme taking shape for 2016. Find out more from our teams by emailing us at The Old Coastguard or at The Gurnard's.

Residential packages will include your stay, breakfast, dinner, transport and the cost of the course.

We will also run one day foraging walks (see right) and sailing days (30th March - 4th April) which guests, as well as visitors and locals, are welcome to sign up for.

An Autumn Feast

Friday 18th November

Our Friday night wine suppers seem to be quickly booked out, so we hope we've found the right balance between cost and excitement.

Our next is a thriller, bringing one of Germany's stellar winemakers (Meyer-Nakel) to Mousehole with their UK importer, Iris Ellman of The Wine Barn

Price tbc but will be around £55 a head.  Stay in touch with news of this and other events by liking our Facebook page, registering as a friend of EDS on our Become A Friend page or drop an email to
our Roundhouse team.

9th September

Caroline Davey
has long been a friend of EDS. Scientist and forager, she has built the immensely impressive Fat Hen, bringing Cornwall and its visitors closer to nature.

Over 2016 she will have run 5 days , walking the hedgerows and shorelines or West Penwith, either from The Gurnard's or from here at The Old Coastguard.  Highly recommended.

If you'd like more details about the dates and itineraries, email the Roundhouse team or visit Caroline's website.

Our first offer back in 2003 at The Griffin, and still properly popular. We hope it sits well with the laid back feeling of The Coastguard.

Kick back with us for our new look Sunday lunch, the papers and maybe an afternoon on the terrace. Then supper, a good night's sleep and breakfast on Monday morning.

For more details of prices and availability of any of our offers, contact us via the website or send an email here.
