We've opened up a few spaces in our car park to Eaters until 3pm.  After 3pm it's back to Sleepers only but until then, fair game.  We also have a quartet of shiny new EV chargers available for our guests to use (Type 2 - 22kW).

Welcome

This is The Old Coastguard, a seaside hotel in the fishing village of Mousehole, near the beaches and gardens of West Cornwall, the Minack Theatre and the artists' studios of Newlyn, Penzance and St. Ives.

Fourteen bedrooms, nearly all looking out over glistening Cornish inland waters, with views to St. Michael's Mount and the Lizard.  And a dining room and outside terrace sitting atop a tropical garden that slopes down to the harbour wall.

Ever since we came to West Penwith in 2006, we have loved its slower pace of life, an opportunity for our guests to beat a retreat from everyday 'civilisation'.

We will work hard with our team here to help you relax and unwind, sleeping in comfortable beds and eating simple, well executed food that runs with the rhythms of the season and the coastal landscape.

We want The Coastguard to be at the centre of its local community with beer and drinks prices set for its regular customers, not the incoming tourists.

We're open every day and all year at The Old Coastguard: please do come and visit us and bring along your friends, dogs or children.

Old Coastguard

  The Felin Fach Griffin

Near Brecon and Hay-on-Wye

  • In between The Brecon Beacons and The Black Mountains, an inn that pulls you in, envelops you in a big cuddle and sends you to bed with a smile on you face.
  • Food that you look forward to eating every night. Surprisingly refined but doing justice to the brilliance of the Welsh larder.
  • Less than 3 hours from London but next to a National Park and with mountains, rivers and lowland hills on all sides.

The Gurnard's Head

Near St. Ives and Zennor

  • Just a hop across the West Penwith moors from The Old Coastguard and in the middle of one of Britain's most beautiful coastal landscapes.
  • A brilliant spot for a short escape away from humdrum life, a place that is genuinely good for restoring the soul and satisfying the appetite.
  • Visit www.gurnardshead.co.uk for a sense of what a slower Britain was once like and for a view of some of our seasonal offers.
